FAQs

Why the title "Junk Food Nutritionist"?
This is a long-time nickname. As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, I do not feel guilty about eating so-called "junk food." I believe that everything is okay in moderation and that everything we eat, including junk food, provides nutrients.

Are you a nutritionist or a dietitian?
Both. I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist. For more information on the differences between nutritionists, Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, and other terms read this post.

What is your Committee on Dietetic Registration number? Or your Pennsylvania license number?
I honestly got this question from a reader. I understand that you want to make sure I'm really a dietitian, but most healthcare professionals don't post their licensure or registration numbers on their webpages. If you are working with me, I will gladly provide you proof of licensure and registration privately.

If you want to look up someone claiming to be a dietitian, the Commission on Dietetic Registration has an online verification system. I am also listed on the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System. You can also find me listed in the local dietitian search at EatRight.org.

Do you give personalized nutrition advice? Can you make me a meal plan?

The information provided in this blog is not intended to replace individualized medical advice provided by a doctor, dietitian, or other healthcare professional. Always talk to your healthcare providers about your healthcare needs.

I do not give personalized nutrition advice via my blog. You can find Registered Dietitian Nutritionists in your area through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

If you are strictly interested in purchasing a meal plan, I have partnered with Living Plate to provide meal plans

I work with a company interested in hiring you to write an article, review a product, etc. How do I contact you?

Please use the contact me form. I do not share my contact information directly on my site to reduce spam. I will get back to you as soon as possible.

How do I ask more questions or share ideas for a post?
Don't be afraid to speak up. Remember what your teachers said; if you have a question, someone else probably does too.  If you have a question about a current post, please respond in the comments section. You can also reach me via the contact me form.

Is this a for-profit blog?
No, I'm sharing my nutrition knowledge & experience with readers who may not be able to afford individualized nutrition counseling from a dietitian. That said, I do run Amazon ads to help offset the cost of purchasing/renewing the domain name & other hosting costs.  As an Amazon Associate, I can potentially earn money from qualifying purchases made through the ads on my site. However, as of 2021, I have not made money off this site.
